Troops of the United States, Egypt and Kuwait had playwar in the desert
The armed forces of Egypt, the United States and Kuwait had joint military actions in repelling the attack conditional enemy in the Egyptian desert in the north near the town of Al-Hamam.
In a scenario exercise, the enemy attacked with a large army, threatened to use chemical weapons. To neutralize the enemy’s forces had to engage allies infantry, tanks, aircraft and air defense.
The F-16 and Mirage conducted a reconnaissance and then attacked enemy targets. After this battle mechanized brigade entered the United States, Egypt and Kuwait, which were supported by the Egyptian helicopters.
Egyptian Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi praised the actions of the military as “excellent”. According to him, the exercise demonstrated a high level of interaction between the armed forces of various countries. The Minister stressed that the exercises are not directed against anyone. “The aim of our cooperation is increasing of the level of training”, - said Tantawi.
Maneuvers in the Egyptian desert, which take place from 12 to 15 October, are a major part of the military exercises”
The first exercise “Bright star” was held in 1980 as a joint Egyptian-US maneuvers. Then, the maneuvers, which were held every two years, joined the NATO countries and some Arab states.
