Ex-Prime Minister of Egypt is held for court
In Egypt, the former prime minister and finance minister will be judged for corruption and illegal expenditure of public funds.
This was stated by the prosecutor’s office on Saturday. Ex-Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif is now in custody, the finance minister is in his government - Youssef Ghali Butrus - is abroad.
The observers think that the decision to judge the former high-ranking officials was caused by the desire of the military authorities to meet the demands of protesters.
The day before, the former ruling party was dissolved by court decision. Last week, the accusations of corruption and misconduct were brought against former President Hosni Mubarak, who resigned in February after mass protests.
