Former student of MGIMO Irina Bokova became general director of UNESCO

General Conference of UNESCO, on Thursday approved a secret ballot for the post of director general of the organization Bulgaria Irina Bokova - MGIMO graduate, who became the first woman to head UNESCO, said the press office of UNESCO.

Egypt ordered from WHO 15 million doses of vaccine against A/H1N1

Egyptian Ministry of Health asked the World Health Organization (WHO) to give the country 15 million doses of vaccine against the virus A/H1N1 of 300 million doses, which would be received from the international organization of production companies for the distribution as a humanitarian aid between the developing and poor countries, said on Wednesday in Cairo, Egyptian Deputy and Health Minister Nasser al-Sayyid.

Egypt demands Germany to return the bust of Queen Nefertiti again

Egypt has launched a renewed struggle for the return from Germany to its homeland the famous bust of Egyptian queen Nefertiti - wife of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), reported the German news channels.

Colorized Nefertiti bust, that shows her perfect beauty was discovered by German archaeologist Ludwig Borchardt in 1912 in the sculpture workshop of the court artist and sculptor Thutmose at Amarna - a small settlement on the east bank of the Nile. Here are the ruins of the ancient Egyptian capital Ahetatona, built in the middle of the XIV century BC by order of Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten).

Troops of the United States, Egypt and Kuwait had playwar in the desert

The armed forces of Egypt, the United States and Kuwait had joint military actions in repelling the attack conditional enemy in the Egyptian desert in the north near the town of Al-Hamam.

Egypt was once again postponed the signing of the agreement on reconciliation of Hamas and Fath

Egypt has once again decided to postpone the signing of the agreement on Palestinian national reconciliation because of the acute conflict of the basic movements between Fath and Hamas, said Friday the agency MENA.

It was planned that all Palestinian factions will sign a document of reconciliation on October 26 during a ceremony in Cairo with the participation of official representatives of Arab States. But on Thursday, Hamas representatives have asked for an additional two to three days for a decision on the document of reconciliation.
